Home Province#
All characters must choose a province before beginning their travels or adventures within the land. Each province has its main hometown or city and sometimes a collection of smaller towns within it. Each province has two different kinds of ranking systems within it, Citizenship and Military. The aristocracy of both rankings can sometimes be difficult to understand when comparing power between the two systems and differ on their perspective situation. Most all political matters are consulted within a citizenship rank and then distributed to a military rank if matters see fit. Such cases as war may cause military ranks to have more precedence over citizenship ranks. It is not uncommon that one person may be attributed to both status circles but is only addressed by one title, most usually the highest rank. In most all cases it is considered that each rank within the circles defines his or her status above those in a different circle such that an admiral of Tharsis would outrank and have more status than a Count, but equal status to a Marquis. For a more detailed description of each province see Time and The Greater Provinces.
Citizenship#
Each major city that can be proclaimed as a hometown has citizenship ranks bestowed upon it. The Hometown cities currently designated by version 10 are Crecia, Jewall, New Saellem, Tharsis and Narsis. The higher the rank, the more taxes they owe and the more revenue they receive from those under their rank with taxes; such that a lord with 13 citizens in his realm will owe maybe 10 for being a lord under a duke, but receives maybe 4 from each citizen, giving him a profit from the taxes induced. Each rank has its own salary or dues per day. Amounts paid are deducted from ones bank daily, or paid daily at the opening of bank operations. One may distinguish a tax person to handle all of the logistics of taxation and receive weekly or monthly statements.

Military#
Each of the main towns have military who usually act as law enforcement or protectorates. There are different ways of gaining loyalty in each of the towns. Most of such ways depend on active duty quests, serving in war actions, or city bounties. Citizens are greatly respectful of military during the current age of as shadows of the previous wars still loom about the land, especially with the introduction of Mandaks Legion pushing into the Bleak.

The Clans#
There are currently as of version 10 five main clans of Sedia. These clans control all of the politics as the members of these clans are in control of all the highest positions of bureaucracy. Each clan currently has 5 ranks determining power. As the players rank increases the number of members sharing the same rank as the player decreases. The rank system is similar to a medieval caste system where each rank is treated with a significantly greater amount of respect and commands more authority than the last.
tribes of tyr#
Ranks: worker,hunter,guardian,sultan,chieftain
The Tribes of Tyr is a close-nit clan that resides around the base of Mt. Tyr. Those of similar ranks refer to each other as brother and sister. The Tribes don’t have too much ambition except to maintain general peace and seclusion from the rest of the world. It is rumored that the first son of Duke Xorcos, Donovin Xorcos, had once contracted their help in the war against Julias Mandak, but it only floats around Tharsis and not much further. Tribes of Tyr are neutral to Schzo’ersch, Enemies with Exuvae, enemies with Revnati, and allies with Mandaks Legion.
schzo’ersch#
Ranks: slave,minion,worshiper,overseer,dark one
Schzo’ersch is a clan that originates from the unruly streets of Narsis, the town of chaos and corruption. Schzo’ersch has been known to stick their hands in most all politics in the largest cities so they can cause corruption, gathering money and siphoning materials and power to better benefit the future operations of the clan. They resemble closely a mob or underground agency that has no morals whatsoever, but only an absolute respect for their own clan’s authority. Schzo’ersch is neutral to Tribes of Tyr, enemies with Exuvae, enemies with Revnati and enemies with Mandaks Legion.
exuvae#
Ranks: student,scribe,librarian,elder,ancient
Exuvae is a clan only whispered by those powerful enough to summon the courage to betray the laws of the ancients or perhaps the foolish with too much information. Exuvae is a clan comprised of those who belong to or have aspirations to belong to the family line of the ancients. It was once said that mankind was made most prominently from the original thirteen but rumors within the clan say otherwise. Exuvae is stationed inside New Saellem but have occasionally appeared within the Mage Spire. They thrive only for knowledge like their Father Lythantos, and are comprised of Psions, Mages, and those who seek better knowledge of what was, is, and will become of Urd. Exuvae are enemies to Tribes of Tyr, enemies to Schzo’ersch, allies with Revnati, and neutral to Mandaks Legion.
revnati#
Ranks: fledgling,tormentor,doomsayer,prophet,savior
The Revna are sometimes considered a religious group because of their beliefs. They are stationed within Crecia and believe solely in the balance of Urd. They make sure that Urd is maintained safely and that neither Lythantos nor Dekkashraen develop too much power. They believe one day Ettephemone may rise again and pull the two gods back into peace and restore balance to Urd. The belief is commonly referred to as Revnatiesm and has been known to occasionally appear corrupt. The Revnati are either feared, scorned, or ignored by the peoples of Sedia and aren’t very well liked. Revnati are enemies of Tribes of Tyr, Enemies of Schzo’ersch, allies to Exuvae, and enemies of Mandaks Legion.
mandaks legion#
Ranks: trainee,soldier,praetorian,field marshal,commander
Mandaks Legion is a publicly revered group of soldiers who follow Julius Mandak in a war against the corruption of Narsis and its spread throughout the continent and into the daily lives of normal peoples. The Legion, as it is commonly referred to, follow their leader almost blindly at times with as much esteem they have for him. The Legion is comprised of many different kinds of peoples from various backgrounds and locations. The Legion is now stationed in Tharsis with Mandak, housed within the barracks, and occasionally train outside his Manor. Sides are now beginning to form in what is becoming a bigger war of different aspects sometimes skewed in proportion. The legion are allies to Tribes of Tyr, and enemies of Schzo’ersch, neutral to Exuvae, and enemies of Revnati.
